Criolla Ropemaking: the traditional Argentine art form we honor at Jasinta
Share
Creole rope weaving is the art of braiding raw cow or horse hide. This technique uses rawhide, which is 100% natural and ecological, without any chemical treatment.
The origin of the rope-making technique is attributed to the original settlers and the first gauchos of Argentina, who needed to make all the tools for riding and working cattle themselves. Their methods were passed down orally by the gauchos, who have passed this know-how down, generation after generation. It is the most indigenous Argentine art.
In our designs, we combine the magic of traditional gaucho rope-making techniques, blending the classic with the contemporary, honoring this ancient art and its artisans.
